ADHD

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder commonly diagnosed in children, although it can persist into adulthood. It is characterized by symptoms such as inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, which can affect an individual's ability to focus, follow through on tasks, and regulate their behavior. Children with ADHD may struggle in academic settings, often having difficulty completing assignments or sitting still during class. The exact cause of ADHD is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve genetic, environmental, and neurological factors. Diagnosis typically involves a comprehensive evaluation, including behavioral assessments and input from parents and teachers. Treatment may include behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, and medication, such as stimulants or non-stimulants, to help manage symptoms and improve functioning. Support strategies, such as organizational skills training and creating structured routines, can also play a crucial role in helping individuals with ADHD succeed in various aspects of life.
